Adobe InDesign Server CS2 permite la integración con varios sistemas, además cualquier desarrollador puede crear soluciones automatizadas para publicar. Tiene el mismo código base que Adobe InDesign CS2, y su interfaz es muy parecida.
Adobe InDesign Server CS2 está adaptado para el uso con el servidor, ofrece programación avanzada vía C++, y SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). Esto garantiza la interfaz para que terceras personas puedan integrar InDesign Server CS2 a soluciones más grandes que soporten una gran variedad de usos entre periódicos, revistas, catálogos, y libros.
