Un informante anónimo dijo que según el código encontrado en la última edición de firmware, Apple está trabajando en una nueva aplicación iPhone llamada iControl. Como Apple TV y otros controles remotos, permitiría que el iPhone se conectara inalámbricamente a bibliotecas iTunes locales y buscase a través y reprodujese medios desde esas fuentes.
Un navegador de medios permitirá ver videos, reproducir podcasts, escuchar música. Obviamente, no hay fecha para el lanzamiento, pero desde el evento SDK en febrero, se ha rumoreado que Apple lanzaría alguna aplicación iPhone oficial propia, e iControl podría ser la primera.
